Tsfx or Tssm or Neap? or anyother one!!

Which of the companies is better? for any particular subjects/teachers?

NEAP > TSFX > TSSM

But I'm in year 11 and TSFX notes were pretty poor for year 11 subjects (especially physics.) When I did do methods at TSFX, the notes were quite comprehensive though.

Neap produces books (pretty good ones in my opinion), so be assured the practice questions they give you will be nice too. They distribute their materials on a weekly basis, unlike TSFX which gives you a bound book that will last for a few weeks.

Oh and my single experience with TSFX's method's extension program wasn't good. Basically they have a whole heap of questions and you just go through them in class over a period of 3 days(?). Most of the extended response questions can be found in Checkpoints.

the one's i've been to:

TSSM is crap
NEAP's chemistry is the best
MAV methods is pretty good
MAV specialist is a piece of crap
Access Education has good physics, and good chemistry unit 3
don't bother with NEAP physics, the level is too basic
VATE English Language was awesome

OH, and summer school except the one at UoM are useless.

apparently, some of the companies have made a new summer school lecture regarding 'calculators'---its a whole lecture dedicated to the understanding and use of calculators.

Don't bother. They don't teach you anything really insightful which you wouldn't pick up from a teacher or by yourself anyway. For non-CAS calcs, there's really nothing which is that difficult, and for CAS calcs, I doubt that they'll teach you the hard stuff which really helps since it usually involves programming which I doubt they know how to do themselves. If you need help with anything, just ask on this forum!

Don't go at all! I forked out more than $1000 in TSFX for Summer School, Winter School, and End of Year Preparation, and learned shit all. Most of the lectures were for maths as well, and I think everyone knows how I went in those exams.

Even if you're desperate (like I was), it's probably the best idea to talk to teachers, these forums or anything that you can do for free, rather than fork out thousands on something that overall, isn't really worth it.

I went to the TSFX intensive 3 day methods revision last year before the exams (the one they have at UoM, it was in the med building). It was with...Jaskula? Can't remember her name, but its been mentioned before. Something beginning with J.

I thought it was quite good and the exam reference book they gave us meant i didn't need to make my own. Because i had quite a few gaps in my methods knowledge before exams, this really helped solidify all the knowledge. I'm very happy with the $150 (or whatever it was) i spent.

well for tssm, i think the notes are very good. and i went to the unit 4 biol one and found it very helpful, the lady gave us a practise exam, a 50 question quiz, and we went through exam style questions. i thought it was worth the 67 dollars for 3.5 hours

hrmmm NEAP summer lecture chemistry is it worth it? Ive heard TSSM is really crap no offence to them or anyone who reckons they are good. TSFX is alright for some subjects like accounting, busman, economics and psychology but their maths is not really good. NEAP i have a heard a mix response to them... So i am also waiting for responses for NEAP for the chem, psych, meths, speshs. English is also the one i am looking for good lectures as well. Any recommendations?

UoM is good, they have a few tutors running around actually giving individual help that are quite useful

the other companies' summer school imo aren't really worth it.

The only tutor I liked at TSFX was Anthony Coyne (I don't know if that was his name?), but seriously, best lecturer ever!
