Dedicated to Epic Pens

Considering this thread has been long overdue as evidenced by continual discussion in Class of 2014! :D, and from multiple users: anna.xo, AngelWings, LiquidPaperz and many others - as well as answering this question a million times :)
I thought I'd step up and create the thread for continual discussion!

Get ready to contribute your favourite pens that you use for exams and the like.

I'll go first:

These jet streams are the most comfortable and smoothest pens ever :) Highly endorsed if you're writing all the time - for say Lit and English
2014 - English (50, Premier's Award)| Music Performance (50, Premier's Award) | Literature (46~47) | Biology (47) | Chemistry (41) |  MUEP Chemistry (+4.5)  ATAR: 99.70

Yep these jetstream pens are super smooth and you can get them at most newsagents. I haven't seen the ones that DJA posted, since the ones in the newsagents look like this, although I'm assuming they are the same smoothness?

The only drawback is they are pretty expensive and in my experience run out pretty quickly

Edit: Just out of interest do people here use regular or mechanical pencils when doing Maths exams?

Thanks DJALogical.

I recall someone (won't state names in case I get it wrong) stating that Open Day pens from universities are very good. I personally loved one that I got as a freebie at a school expo a couple of years back. University of Melbourne's free pens are generally good, but for short time frames. e.g. signing a form, writing a paragraph.

Bic and Papermate a relatively cheap, getting one of their more expensive (and justly so) 4 colour pens does a decent job, but hurt after a long time. (Bic clssic fine, Papermate Kilometrico and Inkjoy recommended by Reus, mikehepro and walkec respectively)

psyxwar has also recommended Uniball jetstream
auds recommends Pilot pens

... and I can't recall who else has said stuff, so I apologise now for all the people I have left out. (Please don't hate me.)
This is just a summary of the stuff I've seen in the Class of 2014 thread.

I personally don't recommend 4 color pens. They're generally cheaply made and not particularly good pens; you're sacrificing writing quality for convenience. tbh i think rather than buying tonnes of cheaps pens, it's better to buy some more expensive ones.

I really dislike these pens.. they make my terrible handwriting appear even worse lololol

~

I currently also use a Jetstream pen but it has three colours. I'm going to support your statement Psyxwar since the ink runs out very quickly!! -.-'''''

Very smooth, but seems to have a low yield. So buy more than a few if you decide to get these. Also recommend 1.0 instead of 0.7.

1. Uniball Jetstream 101
2. Pilot G-2
3. Pilot Super Grip

That's my setup.

do 1mm and 0.7mm pens have a big difference, is there a preference of one over the other?

I know with mechanical pencils i prefer 0.5mm (http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/pentel-120-a3-mechanical-pencil-0-5mm-with-leads-pexa315hb)

Thanks

I found one of these in my desk in Lit in red. Best red pen I own - I'm going to buy some of these for exams because all my kilometricos are starting to run out.

Also Bic Smooth Rollers are pretty good too - nice and inky, so use at your peril if you're a lefty

I'm not a lefty but somehow I still end up with the whole side of my palm covered in ink after writing an exam/essay/anything with more than a paragraph  :-\

This ^^ makes my writing completely illegible since everything ends up smudged and there's little inky prints left everywhere hahaha !
