VET IDM 2013 exam
« on: November 08, 2013, 06:31:54 pm »
So how was it everyone?

Personally somewhat dissapointed yet relieved. Pretty confident on every question except the last short answer(did anyone actually know that?), and my animation and site were the same as the guide. However i didnt use the supplied styles because i couldnt get them to work, so definately losing marks for that.

yeah i feel pretty much the same, i feel confident on everything bar the last question, i think it when something along the lines of -

"In terms of using a FTP for a website (may or may not include, for a website - cannot remember) what do they terms "get" and "pull" mean?"

I was pretty pressed for time though, i only just finished importing the animation into my website within the last 30 seconds and that means i didn't get to
go over any of my answers which i am not so happy about, but overall i feel really confident, hopefully aiming somewhere in the ballpark of a 40.

I'm sure you'll get it.

I liked that the exam didn't require you to write much promotional content, writing the planting guide for kids was really simple and nice. (By the way I think VCAA might have an obsession with veggie gardens?). I also thought it was cool getting to use the drop shadow effect in photoshop. Also the animation was super simple apart from being really long, so that was nice. Overall I think this year's short answers were harder than previous years, but the practical was easier.

Yeap, i 100% agree with everything you said, the animation was dead easy, just alot longer to make with alot of tedious steps, and yeah definitely the short answers questions were a step up from the others. The dreamweaver was the easiest thing out of all i think.

In relation to get and put, first fresh reminder of FTP:

FTP - Protocol commonly used for copying files to and from other computers

get - To copy one file from the remote machine to the local machine

put - To copy one file from the local machine to the remote machine

Not sure how i went......
I finished the pratical (section C) in 50 mins, and had an 1:10 minutes to spare for multiple choice and short answer and i though well i could relax abit. So for the multi choice questions on easing, i actually attempted them on flash to test it....
The pratical was quite easy and it was good that their wasn't much writing.
Did anyone create a new style for the dotpoint so that it was size 18?

Overall i hope that i did well!
A+ (aim for the starrs 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) )
