Wearing the same dress to 2 different formals?
« on: August 07, 2013, 07:19:41 PM »
Hi AN's,
I'm at an all girls school and I've been invited to a guy friends formal this month. I bought a dress for my friends formal that I really really like, but today the SRCs from my school made a Facebook page so all the girls from my school can post their dresses on the page for our formal in November so no one has the same dress.

The only people who will be on my table from my friends formal who will be at mine will probably be my friend and a couple of other guys, so I was wondering if its okay to wear the same dress to my formal?

Because I really like my dress that I've got and dresses are so expensive and I don't really see the point of buying two expensive dresses if I only wear them once.

Hey! :)
Yay! Formal! :) Excitinnng! :)
I'm in the same situation as you this year. I am planning to wear my year 11 formal dress to my friend's formal . But then some of the girls who are coming are also on my table for the other formal and they'll be like " omg you wore the same dress "  And people at my school ... Are absolutely pedantic about wearing the same dresses.  So idc, I'm just going to wear the same one, not going to spend money . AND OMG i haven't bought my formal dress for my formal yet and it's in two weeks. :O screweed!
So I think you should just wear the same dress, if you really like it!

Hey teletubbies_95, girls at my school are also so pedantic! But their parents are paying because its a rich private school, haha. My parents said I have fund everything myself, because that's what they had to do. The way I see it, everyone knows me now by year 11 anyway, so if they have a problem with me wearing the same dress twice, then that's their problem not mine  :D

I was in the exact same position as you last year and wore the same dress! Formal dresses are very expensive and you typically don't get to wear them much, so it's great to have more than one occasion! My partner wore the same suit, so I figure I could wear the same dress! :)
