At my school we are required to do 2 3/4s in Yr 11 and 4 in Yr 12, but I am thinking of doing 5 in Yr 12, is it manageable? Thanks

haha of course. I think its wiser to have one in yr 11 and spend more time on 1/2s.

ahha yeah +1

your school is strange..
there has only been one person in the last 2 years who has done only 4 subjects in year 12 at my school, a large majority have to do six due to IB, and everyone else MUST do 5, i got in so much trouble for doing 6, and people who are considering only 4 get threatened to leave (unless they are done a 5th as a uni subject or out of school).

At my school you have to do 5. Youre only allowed to do less if you have special circumstances, or you do VET or VCAL.

Yeah, at my school they pretty much make you do 5 unless you have really good scores from year 11 3/4s. From what I've heard, the majority of students take 5 subjects in year 12... a few take 6.

well im one of the "few who do 6" (lol yess I regret it, probably stressed that enough in other threads)

but im planning to do all of Unit 3 Accounting and the 3 Further modules I want to do + core and just finish the whole Japanese workbook during the summer holidays so it gives me less work to take home and I can focus on refining my knowledge throughout the term :(

Good luck with that next year! Remember, if you have good foundations from your year 11 subjects, you should be fine - I have a few friends who did 6 in year 12, did great and did not regret it at all although it was a bit hard admittedly :) In fact, I was going to do so as well, but then since I'm doing 3.5 unit 1/2s in year 10 this year, why not do 2 next year?

Doing 5 in year 12 is fine.  I find that frees are useless anyway.  But it really depends on how much work you are planning to do and also how your school timetables, doing 5 may leave you with very little spare time at school because the timetable is geared for people doing 4.  Additionally, if you are considering an enhancement subject, it is quite a small workload.

I'm doing 6 and it is going fine. It could get hectic if I had done a heap of work for all of them, but at the moment it is fine.

I get a lot of crap from one of my friends who is doing 2 3/4's this year who keeps telling me to just not-do-6 next year and forget MUEP by saying that "there's only that much time you can have to study for all those subjects"

I think she's a bit biased since she just wants me to be in spesh 3/4 with her next year - considering 80% of the GMA class are ESL students :\ and I find that she's can be very-last-minute with her homework/preparations

I just cant wait to get my hopeful-line-of-subjects next year and prove her wrong  :buck2:

Yeah our school normally makes us do 5 in year 12. And only 1 in year 11.

5 is normal, but one of my friends is doing 4, because he did 2 last year.
