Are the session things that they have any different from what you can just simply read from vtac guide or a brochure?

Besides getting free stuff and talking to current students, what is good about it? Unsure whether or not to give up a whole day to go to Monash tomorrow

I've just come back from the peninsula one. Besides the freebies you get a feel of the place i guess and it was also good to speak to current students.

I was only there for like 45 minutes or so, collected some stuff, spoke to some current students and left.
If you're intending to study at clayton next year maybe it would be a good idea to go seeing as it is so huge.

Mm everyone seems to only go for like 15 minutes to collect some stuff... no one has said anything about the sessions. Last time i went UoM, i was there for like 5 hours collecting bagfuls of stuff

asking the people for somehtings that arent clarified in the book!

Emailing solves that, as well as providing the written confirmation. Asking in person risks receiving incorrect information, and no way to prove you were told the wrong thing when you complain

My gf is going tomorrow, I've never been to any open days so I will repeat what she told me.

So besides the free stuffs, there are lectures about what courses are about and you can ask the person from the courses' faculty information about anything afterwards (job prospects etc etc) especially if you are unsure about which course you want to do.

Lol, I think this year at UoM open day, I'll be spending most of my time going to info sessions etc., I'd imagine that the vast majority of free stuff would be course brochures?

It's worth going, if for nothing else than to just see the campus. The lectures can also be really informative, particularly if you're thinking about choosing majors.

Instead of lectures, would you get the same info from brochures + talking to students? 30 minutes in a theatre would be hell...
