I wish I'd been sick for my English Language Exam. I had really good SAC scores, and 50+49 for the relevant GAT sections, so it'd have been better! :)
Ivy Leaguer. High ATAR. Physics competitions and all that jazz in high school.

Probable physics and/or economics major.

Maybe you got nervous during the exam? Seriously, a 45 in an English based subject is amazing, but I've got the feeling you were aiming for a 49-50 - did you get stressed out easily? That was me on Methods, I really shouldn't be complaining however, but a lot of people expected me to get 50 - lost marks and got 49. I agree with you (from another post) that VCAA exams don't really measure ability, as it all comes down to how you go on the actual day.

Hehe, I can relate to that. More than once have I walked out of an exam room and whilst reviewing the questions in my mind again, realised that I made a silly mistake. Alternatively, I would walk out of the exam room, not having done a question, and then realising that the question was actually really really easy to solve.

How could one not loathe the nefarious ambience of exam pressure? :p

Methods exams were very relaxing until I realised there was 20 minutes left to go and I still had half an extended response question to go.

Yes.  If you do one or more year 12 subjects, then you must do the GAT that year.  What's worse is that they always use the results from the most recent GAT so if you did really well in the humanities section last year and did really crap on that section this year, then only this year's will "count".

I can't say I really give a crap about the GAT. If I end up in a coma this year I will probably end up doing VCE again (well...depending on how long I have been asleep for.)
Hmm...next year already. Well better set my goals and all...(raw)

This year was the third time I've done the GAT. Now I hate:

Everything to do with Diamonds
Everything to do with Bees
Everything to do with Underwater Exploration

I'm rather glad I don't have to do it again. It might have made me hate something that matters.
