My friend did 3 maths this year !! lol she got 50 for further, 46 for methods and 45 for specialist ... I don't know how she did it though 3 maths crazy lol

Luck, is indeed a major part. I made so many tiny silly mistakes in my acc exam (especially in unit 4, god that was ambiguous) which lead to the <40 score. If had just got an exam like 2005ers did could've got 45 easily (got 87/90 for u3 and 85/90 for u4)

Luck can play a part, but the whole point of effective studying is that you don't let it. If the 2007 methods exam was as easy as the 2006 one, I would have been able to get a raw score in the mid-high 30s as opposed to the low 30s. I didn't have much luck on the exam, but it's still my fault that I underperformed by my own standards though.

Lol, and I think the opposite was true for economics. I think I would have gotten a higher study score if the exam was a bit harder. But again, if that was true then I shouldn't have lost as many marks as what I obviously did.

i have a friend at uni who did four maths - 50 for further in yr11, 50 for methods, 46 for spec, 85 for UMEP maths in yr12. he was so disappointed with his spec score too.

all of them counted - the 50 in methods and 46 in spec were his second and third subjects, physics his fourth (think he got something like 48 or so). further and UMEP were both increments.

to my knowledge, UMEP subjects aren't included in the maximum of three subjects of one type rule. and it definitely was UMEP maths...

Despite being in yr 11 and only 2 subjects, my advice is to do your work and not stick to any routine or schedule. However long it takes and whatever it requires, just try to get it done as soon as you get it. For me, it was hard to have fun knowing i had lots of work hanging over my head so that was my motivation to finish it all. for my lote subject, it was crucial not to overdo the oral practice because that made me speak without thinking and my answers were of a lower quality. i might need to adopt new strategies this year but ill see how i go.....

Here's evidence proving you right:

Restrictions on use  of approved tertiary (Extension) studies in schools

If your ENTER incorporates an extension increment from any of the study areas of mathematics, English, LOTE, music, history or computer science/information technology then at most two VCE ENTER subject scores and/or VET increments from that study area may be used. 

In each of the study areas of English, mathematics, history, Contemporary Australian studies, information technology, LOTE and music:

    * at most two results can contribute to the Primary Four
    * at most three results can contribute to the ENTER, be they VCE results, Extension Study results, or VET results
