Did my 1st practise paper in timed, exam conditions (at home, not school in class) which was on Further Exam 1 which was NEAP 2011. Got 30/40 (75%)  :'(

Did ALOT of silly mistakes in stats core which i thought i would never do; granted it's my FIRST practise paper and I wasn't at the best mental state which maybe is a good thing to simulate stress. Also maybe because I was kinda rushed for time in the end since I spent a lot of time in networks (which I actually did well since I suck at it lol) but the questions I came back to didnt have enough time to do proper calculations.

Oh well, hopefully gonna learn my mistakes and know that this is merely the first, baby step in reaching the peak of the mountain that is succeeding in my end of year exams :)

BTW, is NEAP meant to be on-par with VCAA for Further Exams in terms of difficulty of exams? what about compared to other companies?

Man, I feel you. I'm always getting 75%-80% on practice exams (which is killing me as my SAC average has generally been 95%+ in the relevant subjects). It's so frustrating - dropping one mark here, dropping another mark there, and they add up >.<

Also, walkec, do you know what companies do Food Tech practice exams? I've currently just got the VCAA ones sitting here
2013 : Philosophy (31) | VCE VET Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) (31)

2014 : Food Tech (40) | Accounting (35) | Art (39) | Visual Communication Design (40) | English (38) [hopefully!!]

Home Economics Victoria, HEV, Engage Education, QATs, TSSM.

Can't think of any others. That was one annoying thing about Food Tech, there's not many practice papers compared to other subjects! But you're lucky in that this is the last year of the current study design I believe, so you'll have a few more than I did last year.

Another good thing about Food is that because the exam is only 1 1/2 hours, it doesn't really take that much effort to do timed practice papers compared to other longer subjects  :)

Thank you! :D

It really is the period that we should study the most, so lets not make procrastination steal our desired ATAR

That's the idea, ahaha. I went and redid my desktop last night, installing Rainmeter and I've chucked a heap of quotes on there (they randomly change different times of the day) to try and make sure this doesn't happen ;P

You're just getting started! You've got plenty of time to do a hell of a lot more and soon get 100%'s on them towards the end. Practice makes perfect.

There's nothing wrong with it if he/she feels comfortable doing it.. BUT.

Honestly though, if you're rank 1 and you want your teacher to 'predict' your score, you run the risk of being too complacent. Like if he/she says you will likely get a high 40, you might end up being too cocky and not trying
If you're rank 1, your possible study scores are somewhere between 0 to 50 (maybe more so 30 to 50) so anything your teacher predicts is more likely to be subjective opinion rather. Also, teacher predictions are often always wrong because SACs don't reflect your SS plus teachers are no experts in predicting these things..

its more the fact that he has been a 3/4 teacher for 4-5 years, so he could tell me how i can do looking back on past students sac scores and what their overall SS is.

in reference to complacency, i know what you mean but i'm too motivated to become complacent, if anything i can be complacent all the time. The SAC on U4 AOS1 i remember going into his office to hand in a practice SAC and he tells me id be completely fine for this sac and will do extremely well (motivates me further to impress him) and ended up getting my first 100%.

Just finished organising for holiday revision from now till exams - each tray with each subject  ;D - need to refocus after the disappointing UMAT result.
Taken over a whole table for study space.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

What's everyone else's study setups like? - I'd love to see!

This is mine
All my books on my desk make it look very chaotic

EDIT: I just decided I didn't like how messy it looked so I relocated my books to a bookcase next to my desk and now on my desk I just have my laptop, drink bottle and pencil case!

This is mine. It's waaaay messy D: Consisting of a practice exam, snacking foods, studyspo on the laptop, and a giant monthly calendar on the wall - it's the only way to remember all my assignments/commitments/etc.
