New calculator?

Hi, so I've been using Ti-Nspire since year 9 (in year11 now) but the number six key doesn't always work - it depends on the way I press the button but I've been careful enough during tests. And my school uses the Casio Classpad because I transferred schools in year 10.
Up till now it was okay because I already knew how to do most things on my calculator. But with methods being tricky, it would be good to have teacher assistance, and with a further 3/4 exam coming up I'm a bit worried.
My methods teacher recommends I get the new colour Casio but I don't know if it's worth it.
Do you guys think I can just teach myself everything I need to know on my Ti ? (not really looking forward to spending $240)
