i am passionate about science and find everything captivating, but at my current school, i am able to do more vce subjects in a span of 4 years ( i finished 2 subjects 1/2s), meaning that i have more back ups.
should i go to john monash science school or stay at my school?
would going to jmss assist me in vce, or would doing vce across a span of 4 years be more worthwhile?
what do you think?

Depends what you value as important. If science is your thing, go for it. BUT in saying that, JMSS is a terrible school for their English course, as in, the way it is organised/set out. If you have any desire to do well in English, I strongly recommend you stay at your own school and not move. Good luck :)

Sorry to dig up an old thread but this comment isn't particularly well advised. Our English department is fine, I'm sure there are better and I'm sure there are worse, but advising potential applicants to avoid the school simply if they wish to do well in English (who doesn't anyway? I'm not sure a single person taking VCE seriously doesn't want to do well in English) isn't particularly helpful advise for somebody looking to move to a specialist school.
