I want to know people's opinions on the lectures I am considering going to and whether there are better ones etc

English
-Might go to Access Ed one at Monash Clayton
-Any others?

Business Management
-Might go to Access Ed one at Monash Clayton
-WANT TO GO TO ONE MORE... SUGGESTIONS?

Economics
-There are two lectures presented by the same company "commerce presentations and publications"... one is "Exam prep" and the other is "Course revision"... $30 each.... want to go to both.
Any others?

Accounting
-Access Ed didn't do much for me last time. Looking at going to one at Monash Caulfield that has 4 lecturers (4 hours) Viki Baron, Anthony Simmons and Keith King and some other dude. around 45 bux but some of those names are big in acc and it sounds good. Probz wont go to any other accounting lectures but feel free to make suggestions

Further Maths
- Don't really want to go to any lectures but will probz go to Access Ed cause of cost and convinience.... anyone got any better suggestions?

I'm thinking of going to VCTA ones for both economics and accounting... i'm too lazy to go all the way to melb uni twice >.< but yeah the ones by VCTA doesn't sound too bad =)

last time i went to the acct one at monash caulfield... vicky baron was good, anthony simmons just read out of his textbook basically, keith king was boring, n the other gal (whom they took off) didnt noe wat she was talking about. i'm not going back there lol.

Not the uni Mao. Lol ... just the VCE lecture at Monash Caulfield.
I'm not going to the lecture there because I am going to another one

I'm going to:

  • VATE for English (http://www.vate.org.au/) - My teacher will be running one of the sessions and has brought our whole class along. Apparently this program is pretty good compared to the rest :).
  • Derrick Ha for Maths Methods and Specialist Maths (http://www.derrickha.com.au) - My friend goes to his Haileybury classes and recommended him. He's supposedly really good at explaining things   :). I was going to go to one of the others (tsfx, etc) but some uni friends advised against them.
  • Chemistry and Physics – undecided at the moment  :-\

Nah….at VATE, you apparently only get a few pages of notes for each book…that’s why they are soo cheap!!! :) but the discussion should be good because you mix with people from other schools who give you a different insight. also, my teacher got us in with the 'better' tutors/lecturers, so should be even better!

Hmm….I thought 81 was really cheap for methods n spec (only $13.50 per hour plus they give me the bound book which I’m going to use for the exam :) ) Anyways, its much cheaper than all the rest, especially tsfx and neap, so I’m happy! :) And its cheaper than my tutoring which is 50 bux an hour with a maths teacher who gives pretty limited notes  >:(.  Btw, I just received the preparatory questions for the program and they are amazing  ;D.

Haha. n the hours u spend posting on this site is precious study time  :P    And at least by going to the three days of lectures, I wont be wasting my time surfing the net like i'm doing now  :buck2:

Who knows? by learning his exam tricks, maybe I’ll get one of those 50s that he got :P And, I’ve still got 8 weeks - so one day at vate and another two at derrick ha is nothing. Besides, learning from this genius may motivate me and make the rest of the 8 weeks way more efficient (and I’ll save myself 2 weeks on writing 2 bound books :) ).

so you think that derrick is worth it?
would it be more beneficial if i went to something like access education or tsfx?

p.s. im really struggling at maths methods, hoping to get a study score of above 30 :(
